How the records guide works
Otero County Detention Center intake rules establish that a person is photographed during booking, but research found no official public current-booking roster, searchable photo portal, or automatic booking feed. That distinction matters. A photograph created during intake is not automatically a public web image, and an arrest is an allegation rather than proof of guilt.
This guide separates the systems that hold different information. Otero County may hold county detention records through its public-records process; the New Mexico Corrections Department offender search is for state prison, parole, and probation status; and New Mexico Courts case lookup can show what occurred after a filing. We organize those official starting points so visitors can use the right source for the question at hand.

- Only a court record can establish a later disposition. Booking and charges remain accusations unless proved in court.
- We do not publish mugshots, arrest galleries, jail rosters, court files, or records supplied by government offices.
