Otero County Public Records Request
For a county booking record or photograph, give the person’s name, approximate booking or arrest date, the arresting agency if known, and any case or incident number. Otero County says requests should be handled immediately or as practicable and no later than 15 calendar days. If a record cannot be provided within three business days, the county says it will send a written explanation. Fees posted by the county are $0.25 for a page up to 11 by 17 inches, $0.75 for a larger page, and $4 for a non-document item; advance payment may be required. These request fees are separate from the $10 booking fee charged to a person booked into OCDC.
Choose the office that holds the record
- OCDC operational custody questions: call the Detention Center at 575-437-6420. A call is not a substitute for an official record request.
- Otero County booking record or photo: use the county IPRA request process. No official public current-booking roster or public online photo policy was located.
- Alamogordo Police Department record, photo, or video: use the completed-report request page or the Police Records Division, 700 Virginia Ave, Alamogordo, NM 88310, 575-439-4300. APD records are distinct from county jail booking materials.
- Tularosa Police Department record: contact the department at 609 B St. Francis Dr, Tularosa, 575-585-2704, or use the village IPRA request form.
- Cloudcroft Police record: contact the village at 201 Burro Ave, Cloudcroft, 575-682-2411, or use the village IPRA request form.
- Later court case or disposition: search the official New Mexico Courts case lookup. A court entry does not replace the originating booking record.
- State prison, parole, or probation status: use the New Mexico Corrections Department offender search. NMCD says it does not have jurisdiction over county or city detention facilities, so it is not an OCDC roster.
- Federal or immigration custody: use the official BOP inmate locator or the ICE Online Detainee Locator. Those are separate systems and not an Otero County booking search.
